The double burden of women’s work within the house and outside and their struggle to obtain their human rights is the concern of this film. We see the role that collectivisation has played in empowering women to seek justice in both their economic and social spheres. Two case studies-from the States of Karnataka and Kerala-demonstrate the emergence of the articulate and empowered women with organisational and management skills.

In 2006-2007 Avehi produced a media kit on Gender Sensitization in Marathi which includes four flipcharts (Total 61 cards and accompanying booklet 30 pages)
The kit is being effectively used in the 26 districts of the 5 zones of Maharashtra –namely, Marathwada, Amravati, Nagpur, Western Maharashtra and Konkan.
With the help of this kit it is possible to expalin how women are subjugated by men within the family, society and cultural spheres and how it is necessary to come out of gender roles unjustly imposed on men and women through ages.
The accompanying booklet which presents questions and discussion points comes handy while facilitating discussions during meetings, workshops and sensitisation camps with men and women. Since the language of the booklet is simple and clear, even women with minimum literacy level can use it effectively to animate their groups.
