Avehi hall is not available for religious/social/political/communal functions or meetings.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to commute in the city and for you to come to Avehi library to borrow DVD films.  To overcome this hurdle and make access to Avehi’s AV resources we have drawn up the following plans for loaning of packages of DVD films which will become effective from 10^th September, 2010. This will not only cut down on frequent visits to Avehi but will also help you in using more DVDs for your various programmes/activities including training.

Terms for loaning of packages of DVD films

1. Packages of DVDs will be loaned only to institutional members, life members/ corporate members/Patron members.

2. There will be only 1 film on 1 DVD of half hour or longer duration. In case of a series of short duration films one DVD will have 3 or more films.

3. Hiring charges:

Package  of  5 DVDs for 1 week-     Rs.20/- per day

Package  of 10 DVDs for 1 week-    Rs.30/- per day

Package  of 5 DVDs for 1 months-   Rs.20/- per day

Package  of 10 DVDs for 1 months- Rs.30/- per day

To be paid when package returned.

4. Deposite –Rs.100/- per DVD

Deposite is refundable.

5. Charges for delay in returning will be :

Package  of  5 DVDs for 1 week-     Rs.100/-

Package  of 10 DVDs for 1 week-    Rs.150/-

Package  of 5 DVDs for 1 months-   Rs.300/-

Package  of 10 DVDs for 1 months- Rs.500/-

6. Damages – The borrower shall be responsible for any loss or damage caused to the material lent to them and will have to replace the item/s or pay the current cost including postal charges.
7. Copying of recorded DVDs and CDs is strictly prohibited.

Avehi library has a total of 1173 DVDs on a wide range of issues/ subjects for both formal and non-formal education which meet the needs of educational institutions, NGOs, CBOs, and individual activists and others.

We are in the process of acquiring new DVDs to meet your needs for which we want your suggestions.

We hope you will welcome this plan of loaning of packages of DVD films.

Avehi catalogue listing all the AV items in the library including DVD’s, Slide shows, Chart Exhibitions, Educational Kits, Flash cards, Educational Toys/ Games, Communication Packages, Puppets, Play scripts etc. is available at Avehi office.

Avehi Facilities

AVEHI HALL

In addition to the Library Facilities Avehi also has a multipurpose hall at its office at Sion Koliwada which can accommodate upto 40 people. It has audio visual facilities and is ideal for meetings and training programmes. The library users may also use it for previewing audio visual material.

Avehi has collated special packages of media materials on various themes such as      ‘Health’, ‘Women’, ‘Children’,’School Education’, ‘Education For Life’, ‘environment’, ‘Legal Awareness/ Human Rights 7 Fundamental Rights on the constitution’. Which give complete information about each entry in the booklet including title, type of media and media accession number, duration, synopsis, suggested audience and source from which it has been acquired by Avehi library .These packages have been welcomed by the library users. They find it easier now to refer to the catalogued items and select what they need from the ever-increasing resources of Avehi’s library.
